Town Manager - Town of Prescott Valley, Arizona

The Town of Prescott Valley (pop. 46,000, 40.9 sq. mi.) is located in central Arizona, set between the scenic Mingus and Bradshaw mountain ranges in the heart of Yavapai County. Its high desert elevation (5,100 ft.) affords four seasons with mild temperatures year-round, offering a welcome alternative to the scorching heat of the Valley of the Sun to the south and the cold and snow of higher elevations to the north. Prescott Valley operates under the council-manager form of government. The FY 2020-21 Budget is $119.7 million (GF $40.98 million) supporting approximately 269 FTEs.

Fast-growing Prescott Valley seeks a proactive, visionary leader as its next town manager. This rare career opportunity is available with the recent retirement of Larry Tarkowski, who served the Town professionally for over 30 years, the last 17 as town manager. Prescott Valley reasonably anticipates this will be a highly competitive national recruitment.

A master’s degree and ten years related experience including five years of progressively responsible municipal management experience as a manager, deputy or assistant municipal manager, or major department head are required; or any equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of town manager. Residency within town limits is expected within six months of hire. The hiring range is $145,000 to $200,000 DOQE. Comprehensive benefits. Relocation assistance subject to negotiation.
