Public Works Director/City Engineer - City of Elk Grove, California

Served by a dedicated staff of 40 and multiple contract positions, the Public Works Department has a FY 20/21 budget of $40.8 million.  The Public Works Department is characterized by teamwork, efficiency, and dedication leading to a strong track record of success and is organized into the divisions of Administration, Capital Improvement, Engineering, Facilities & Fleet, Operations & Maintenance, Recycling & Waste, and Transit.

Bachelor’s degree with major course work in civil engineering, public administration, business administration, or a closely related field is required; Master’s degree is desirable.  In addition, this position requires at least seven years of increasingly responsible public works operations experience or professional civil engineering experience involving the planning, financing, design and construction of public works projects including three years of management and administrative responsibility. Registration as a Professional Civil Engineer is required.

Salary range is $149,819 and $200,785, DOQE.
