Located along the foothills of the scenic San Gabriel Mountains and known as the “Pride of the Foothills”, Glendora, incorporated in 1911, is an active, picturesque, and prosperous suburb of the San Gabriel Valley with over 52,000 residents. Through the decades, the City acquired the assets of multiple water and irrigation companies, including its wells, which form the basis of the current water division.
The City of Glendora is seeking an engaging and collaborative leader to be their next Public Works Director. The ideal candidate must be an innovative and energetic leader, skilled communicator, and strategic thinker, with considerable knowledgeable of the modern principles and practices related to engineering, contract management, park & tree maintenance, fleet management, environmental programs, and water system management. A typical example of qualifying experiences and training is six years of professional experience and demonstrated leadership in a public or private organization including supervision and progressively responsible professional level civil engineering experience with a local public agency which included considerable supervisory experience and administrative responsibility. A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in civil engineering, water management, public or business administration or a related field is required; a Master’s degree is preferred. Registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of California is highly desired. The annual salary range is $169,962 to $212,262, and the City provides a competitive benefit package.
