The City is seeking a Municipal Services Director/Utilities Engineer into the City family to assist City administration, lead the Public Works and Engineering Department, collaborate the public works team; build resiliency, depth and organizational succession for long-term City success; and ensure reporting and compliance required by the Fillmore Water Department.
The Municipal Services Director/Utilities Engineer is a working, hands-on and self-sufficient director to assist City administration; empower and train the Public Works team; and be responsive to the community. This position requires a passion for public service with an equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and / or experience of: aBachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college with major course work in civil or environmental engineering; 2 years of engineering experience in utilities; and 2 years of supervisory responsibility. Water distribution and wastewater collection certification grade 3 or 4 is necessary within 1 year of appointment. California licensing as a Professional Engineering (PE) is desirable; however, applicants may be certified as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with the State of California toward becoming a PE. The annual salary range of the position is $124,439 to $166,760, however, the compensation maybe adjusted depending on education and qualifications, and the City provides an excellent benefit package.
