Innovation and Technology Director City of Pomona, California

Named in honor of the Roman goddess of fruit, the City of Pomona was incorporated in 1888 and is currently the 7thlargest City in Los Angeles County.  Spanning approximately 23 square miles, the City is highly diverse and boasts a multi-cultural community.  The City of Pomona is recognized within the Los Angeles region as one of the most affordable, convenient, and attractive communities to live, raise a family, work and visit.  The City is home to the renown California State Polytechnic University - Cal Poly Pomona, Fairplex, Pomona Raceway, Los Angeles County Fairgrounds, Mt. The Innovation and Technology Director serves as an integral member of the executive team and throughout the organization for leading, visioning, innovating, advancing, solving and maintaining the City’s automation and technology. The new Innovation and Technology Director will partner with stakeholders to progressively and assertively develop master plans, formulate strategic plans, enhance ideas, implement new and necessary business solutions, integrate technology into business plans, strengthen the security and integrity of data and systems, and insure system continuity and resiliency. The Director will work with a smart, capable, dedicated and responsive Department staff team to achieve goals and objectives.  Typical requirements include 7 years of progressively responsible professional experience in information technology including 3 years of  management and supervisory experience, the equivalent to a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in information technology or a related field, and possession of or ability to obtain a drivers’ license.  Any combination equivalent to experience and training that would provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities may qualify.  A Master’s Degree is desirable.  The annual salary range of the position is $147,253 to $197,333, and the City provides an excellent benefit package.
