General Manager - Truckee Donner Public Utility District Truckee, CA
Headquartered in historic Truckee, CA, in the incomparably beautiful Lake Tahoe Region, the Truckee Donner Public Utility District (PUD) is one of the most stable and progressive utility districts anywhere. With roots dating to 1927, the PUD provides sustainable, reliable, and high-quality water and electric services to over 14,000 electric customers and over 12,500 water customers in greater Truckee, a service area of 45.5 square miles. The FY 2020 Budget of $42 million supports 74 FTEs.
The PUD has had only two General Managers in the last 40 years. After 13 years of professional service, General Manager Michael Holley has announced his retirement. In preparation for this transition, the PUD Board has been engaged for over a year in meaningful, high-performance leadership development, creation and refinement of the PUD’s values, and application of its mission throughout the organization.
Bachelor’s (public administration or related) and five to ten years of executive management experience are required. While utility industry experience (electricity, water) is preferred, it is at least as important to the PUD Board that the next GM be aligned with the District’s values and culture. All applicants should expect that salary will be negotiated DOQE. The current General Manager’s base salary is $253,240. Comprehensive benefits. Relocation assistance subject to negotiation.
Filing deadline is February 24, 2020.
