Finance Manager - City of Encinitas, California

The City of Encinitas, a progressive community of 63,000 residents that pride themselves on being five distinct communities thriving as one great city, is known for its striking natural beauty, recreational opportunities and free-spiritedness.  Reporting to the Assistant Finance Director, the Finance Manager oversees the City’s budget and purchasing functions with the support of a team consisting of 2 talented analysts and a part-time accountant.  The Finance Manager will enjoy a collaborative and exciting environment working with citywide departments, problem solving, preparing reports, and accomplishing budget-related projects.  The person selected for this position will be an outstanding communicator with excellent writing skills, personable, approachable, a team player, and value providing customer service.

This position requires Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field plus five recent years of progressively responsible experience related to area of assignment including two years of administrative and supervisory experience (preferably local government), or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the responsibilities of the position. A Master’s degree, Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Public Finance Officer (CPFO) are desirable.  The annual salary range for this position is $86,875 to $128,355; appointment DOQE.
