Director of Human Resources - Cosumnes Community Services District - Elk Grove, California

Located in California’s Central Valley about 15 miles south of Sacramento, the Cosumnes Community Services District (District) is an exciting, specialized autonomous special district that provides parks and recreation and fire protection services to an estimated 205,000 persons. The District’s 157 square-mile service area includes the cities of Elk Grove and Galt, CA, and the unincorporated area of south Sacramento County.  The Districtemploys 346 full-time and over 470 part-time staff, and has a 2020/21 FY budget of $131 million. The District is arguably the leading local government in the State of California on these topics of diversity, equity, and inclusion.

The Director of Human Resources (Director) is a member of the District Senior Leadership Team, reports to the Chief Administrative Officer, and serves as the principal leader and administrator of the Human Resources Division in the Administrative Services Department.

The Division budget of $794,000 supports five FTEs within the Division itself. The successful candidate will be joining a skilled, high-performing team.

The District reasonably anticipates that this will be a highly competitive national recruitment. A bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in human resources, public, or business administration, or a closely related field. Seven (7) years of highly responsible experience in public sector human resources with a minimum of five (5) years in management or supervisory capacity of one or more human resource functions.

The salary range for this position is $138,924 to $172,920 DOQE.  Comprehensive benefits.  Relocation assistance subject to negotiation.
