Director of Administrative Services/Chief Innovation Officer - City of Camarillo, California

The Administrative Services Department is responsible for program development, administration, and coordination of citywide internal general operations. Areas of oversight and interdepartmental engagement include Information Systems, Facilities Management, and Fleet Maintenance.  The Director of Administrative Services/Chief Innovation Officer is a new position created to address and oversee both internal services and information technology. The Director performs a wide variety of tasks including planning, directing, managing and overseeing the activities and operations to achieve efficiencies, implement innovation, and provide the backbone of City services.  As the Chief Innovation Officer, the new Director will serves as the chief architect for all citywide technology services and collaborates with external partners to expand citywide service delivery.  The ideal candidate must be forward-thinking and innovative; proactively develop, coordinate, and execute technology projects, programs, and systems; maintain a reliable, agile, and secure digital environment; support municipal connectivity throughout the City for transparency, public participation, and accessibility; and coordinate assigned activities with other departments and outside agencies. 

The typical background and experience for serving as Director of Administrative Services/Chief Innovation Officer will include a bachelor’s degree and ten (10) years of experience in a related field.  A master’s degree is preferred.  Three years of management and administrative responsibility is desired. 

The City offers a competitive salary of $166,404 - $249,606 based on experience and qualifications, plus a competitive benefit health and retirement package.
