The City of Thousand Oaks seeks candidates for the position of Deputy City Manager. The position serves as a generalist and collaborative member of the organization with responsibilities for specific projects, guidance of various Departments, and leadership of Citywide initiatives. The Deputy City Manager must have skills related to visioning, strategizing, and accomplishing internal, and public facing projects such as the City’s priority Campus Master Plan. The typical background and experience for this position includes a Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of increasingly responsible project management and supervisory experience related to delivering public service, accomplishing project goals, and municipal government operations, management and administration. The successful applicant is will be a seasoned Department Head or has served in a City/County Manager’s office. Knowledge and familiarity with Planning, Community Development and Land Use is desirable. The annual salary range of the position is $180,369 to $270,554, and the City provides an excellent benefit package.
