County Administrator - Solano County, California

With a mix of rural and suburban lifestyles and conveniently equidistant between San Francisco and Sacramento, Solano County (population approximately 450,000) is home to rolling hillsides, waterfronts and fertile farmland.  County residents and visitors enjoy quality of life attributes within the cities of Benicia, Dixon, Fairfield, Rio Vista, Suisun City, Vacaville, and Vallejo as well as unincorporated County areas; year round outdoor recreational activities like fishing, boating, skiing, hiking and biking; and easy access to the San Francisco Bay area, Lake Tahoe region and the Napa and Sonoma Valleys.  The County Administrator will be responsible for tasks and objectives that are consistent with counties throughout California that include budget, revenue generation and financial planning; labor relations and negotiations; public relations and communications; diversity, equity and inclusion; succession planning and workforce development; strategic planning; and responding to unexpected local, state and national matters that affect the County’s delivery of services.    

Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree.  Experience as a chief executive or assistant in a county and/or city, managing operations of a large organization, and management of budget and finance programs is strongly preferred.  The salary will be determined based on the experience and qualifications that you bring to Solano County. The annual salary is $292,004, and the County provides an excellent benefit package.
