The City is seeking an experienced supervisor and leader who is committed to being a long-term member of the team.  A strong understanding of municipal finance and economic development, along with experience working in a City with non-contractual public safety departments, is required, as is a record of strong community involvement and a commitment to be involved in the Manteca Community. The equivalent of a bachelor's degree in business, administration, public administration, or related field and 8 years increasingly responsible experience in City or other government administration is required. A candidate with a minimum of 3 years’ experience working as a department director or equivalent is preferred and a Masters’ Degree is desirable. The City Manager is required to live within 40 miles of the City of Manteca within 6 months of their date of hire.

The annual salary is up to $250,000, depending on qualifications, with an outstanding benefit package and a four-day work week.
