The City of El Centro is seeking a new Chief of Police that can provide leadership to the Police Department, be an integral part of the city's executive management team and continue to provide a good relationship with the community. The Police Department budget totals $10,718.635 and there are 77 employees in the department (52 Sworn, 25 non-sworn). Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Public Administration or a related field and Advanced Management and Supervisory Peace Officers Standards and Training (P.O.S.T.) certification. Ten years of increasingly responsible local law enforcement and management experience, including at least four years at the rank of Lieutenant, Commander, Captain or higher. Salary is open and dependent on qualifications and supplemented by excellent benefits including CalPERS.
