Chief Data Officer - County of Santa Barbara, California

Located on a 122 mile stretch of California’s central coastline, the County of Santa Barbara is a mix of urban, suburban and rural landscapes with a strong economic base in both technology and agriculture. The County is well-known for its world class beaches, mild climate, scenic mountains and numerous parks. The Chief Data Officer will oversee a wide range of data-related functions to define, develop, build and sustain enterprise data, governance, quality and availability.  As a newly created position and function within a new division, the Chief Data Officer is specifically responsible for evaluating the County’s data needs; visioning the use and application of data; developing policy; and collaboratively working with County leadership in all departments to implement and apply programs for data driven decisions.  Five (5) to 7 years of progressively responsible experience and leadership in data management, creating partnerships, implementing data governance, and developing strategy/policies/procedures, and a Bachelor’s degree are required. The annual salary range of the position is $127,736 to $187,428, and the County provides an excellent benefit package.
