The City of Turlock, the second largest city in Stanislaus County, offers a unique blend of quality education, a friendly small-town atmosphere, and the conveniences of a larger city. The City is seeking a motivated and experienced individual to serve as the Chief Building Official.
The ideal candidate is a strong leader and effective manager with a background in City-wide planning, building and life safety, and municipal budgeting, and with knowledge of capital improvement programs and a working knowledge of economic development. An AS degree with significant course work in structural, mechanical or civil engineering, architecture or related fields is required as is 5 years of increasingly responsible experience of a supervisory, administrative or professional nature and in construction and inspection of public, commercial, industrial or residential buildings or comparable work. Certification, training, and education pursuant to Chapter 7, Part 2.5 of Division 13 of the California Health and Safety Code is required.
The annual salary range is up to $143,244 DOQ. The City offers an outstanding benefit package that includes auto allowance, longevity, bilingual, and educational incentive pays, CalPERS 2.7% @ 55, City funded retiree health saving account, and generous contributions to medical, dental, & vision insurance!
