The Building Official is an integral public official within the City’s management team and responsible for Division operations and processes, budget, supervision/management, day-to-day services, and contract management.  The Building Official will engage with residents, business operators/owners and city staff, administers the Municipal Code, and coordinates with service providers and intergovernmental agencies. The ideal candidate must have experience and skills as a working Manager in plan check, permitting, inspection, and code enforcement; and possess strengths in communication, public relations, and consensus building.  The position requires a minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in building construction, design, inspection, or structural analysis; or an equivalent combination of training and experience, including administrative management and with supervisory capacity.  Applicants must have certification from ICC as a Building Official and/or the Council of American Building Officials, or actively working toward certification.  The annual salary range of the position is $128,429 to $156,478,and the City provides competitive benefit health and retirement package.
